What’s on display today? The dissertation that was awarded 1st Class Honours in 1984.

It was great fun to do! I chose the topic of Artesanía (crafts) because before going to university I had completed a traditional craft apprenticeship in London (unusual for a middle class ex-public schoolboy), and then worked as a self-employed ‘craftsman’ in Clerkenwell Workshops for two years and finished a diploma in ‘crafts’ at the V&A.

I soon grew out of the Marxism, when I discovered Weber, Schumpeter and Buchanan.
