The WSJ consistently offers influential and informed analysis and reporting on the accelerating decline of higher (and lower) education in the West brought about by the stultifying and stupefying takeover of the universities by leftwing ideologues who are out-of-touch with reality, bent on returning type 8 society to the primitive 2-3 type.
The ‘Plop’ section is still here, though no longer on our front page. I don’t want to let Social Science Files be dominated by the daily tragedies of Western society in crisis, or be distracted from the task of rationally categorising the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ society.

Anti-Israel Protesters Occupy Columbia University
After New York police cleared an encampment on the Ivy League campus, arresting more than 100 people, the school says it will offer hybrid remote learning for the rest of the semester, while similar protests also engulf Yale, NYU, and other elite colleges. Why are university presidents apparently so reluctant to draw a hard line, especially considering the antisemitism on display?
